Heart of The Gathering

God is number one. Deuteronomy 5:7 “You shall have no other gods before me” Every decision, every ministry, every idea to reach the community for Christ will be preceeded with the question; “what is God calling us to do?” We believe that too often decisions and plans are made without consulting God who created everything and that leads to faulty planning based on money, people and worldly resources. God wants to be number one in all our lives and to show that desire God has created a world for our comfort. We only become uncomfortable when we walk away from God’s protecting presence, therefore the Gathering is always committed to change as God directs.

We are here to gather God’s people. Jeremiah 23:3 “I’ll take over and gather what’s left of my sheep, gather them in from all the lands where I’ve driven them. I’ll bring them back where they belong, and they’ll recover and flourish.” As in Jeremiah’s day we are a scattered people due to a societal shift away from the practice of faith. We believe God has allowed this scattering so one day He might raise up from a remnant a faithful Body of Believers. This is happening all over the world today as the Body of Christ comes together to provide hope for the world. We believe that as we gather God’s scattered people there will be passion, power, and a place to belong for everyone.

Celebrations-R-Us. Psalm 84 10 “Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere…” We believe every time Christians come together there is worship. Singing to God not just about God, celebrating God’s gift of music and the arts through today’s musical gifts. We are committed to constant change in the music we use and the ways we worship the Living God. Heartfelt singing, true commitment and powerful application of the truths of the Bible all constitute the true worship God desires.

To know and to show God. Acts 1:8 “And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the World.” We believe there is no other way to bring God’s grace to the world than through highly committed learners of Christ. We have an intense desire to know more about God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The reason so many are turned off from the Church today is because the Church stopped learning and presented the message of “we know it all” to the world. We believe that once one is filed with the Holy Presence of God one leaks! Therefore one must regularly refuel with God’s power through regular worship and practice regular study of God’s Word through a relationship with a small group.
